Cape Town in 7 Days: The Must-Sees

There are few destinations in the world that boast a more diverse travel experience than Cape Town, South Africa. So when I encounter first-time visitors who want an in-and-out experience in the city, I am often unsure of where to start. From award-winning dining, sought after beaches, pristine natural wonders, to its rich culture and heritage, the city is definitely a traveller’s paradise.

It took me about 3 months to truly feel I had the full Cape experience, and in my time here I have discovered spots that have become personal favourites – places that I often recommend to visitors and are well received. So whether you are seeking the city’s must-sees or wish to discover its hidden gems, this list will help you navigate Cape Town like a pro.

  1. Table Mountain

Arguably the most iconic natural site in Africa, Table Mountain is definitely a must-see. The cableway is the most favoured way up the mountain, offering an up close view with this majestic mountain and a panoramic view of the city. For adventure seekers, the Platteklip Gorge hiking trail is the most popular option and the best way to experience the natural vegetation and to clearly site the city’s popular landmarks. The hike takes about 2-4 hours and it is advisable to start early as it gets very sunny as the day progresses. Bring water and snacks.

  1. Cape Point

Cape Point, also known as the Cape of Good Hope offers one of the most breath-taking views you will ever find, and depending on your vantage point, you can even see the back view of Table Mountain from here. The area forms part of the Table Mountain National Park and you can cycle or hike parts of the park or  you can self-drive for a less restricted experience. Along the way you are likely to spot ostrich and plenty of baboons. When at the entrance of the old lighthouse view point you can opt to take the Flying Dutchman Funicular carriage car up if you are not keen on the walk.

Yellow is by far the colour of the season. Being a colour that signifies freshness, sunshine, joy and happiness, yellow is without a doubt spring ‘hue-manised’.

Top 10 Tips for Travel on a Tight Budget

About 5 years ago I planned a trip of a lifetime to New York City: Manhattan hotels, yellow cabs and jogging in Central Park. I had saved up a bit of money and so I felt quite prepared but somehow the costs kept adding up until my NYC dream was blown to smithereens. The next day I woke up with the strong urge to go somewhere, anywhere. I packed a suitcase and drove to Durban. It was no NYC but that trip woke me up to the possibility of travel even for those of us who aren’t as financially inclined. After many crazy adventures, with plenty travel mistakes, I’ve learnt to travel smart with these 10 tips which I hope will help you get the best out of your next getaway.

  1. Research

The three most important things to consider when travelling are accommodation, transportation and food. It might take a few days online comparing prices but it’ll be worth it. Two of the best ways to do this is to visit online forums or through friends who have previously been to your chosen destination. Also, when researching online be sure to compare reviews from different sources to avoid being deceived by misleading reviews.

  1. Start close to home

I pulled off my first trip, which was to Durban, with only R3000 in my pocket. Before this trip I had secretly qualified great travel with the distance; the further away the destination, the greater the experience. However, I was surprised at all the new and exciting adventures I

Mzansi Influencer Calendar 2019 – Available Now!!!

Influencers, who are they, and why do we care? When you think influencer, you probably picture beautiful women shopping for designer clothes in Dubai or radiant couples lounging on tropical beaches. That’s all true; however, the relevance and impact of social media influencers is incredible and it is changing the face of business and who we interact socially.

Looking at influencers wholly, they do much more than create visual appeal and market products. By my definition, influencers are the future.

Top Tips to Make 2019 Your Year of Great Success

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from 2018 and years passed is that new years resolutions are a rosy, pixie dust road to nowhere. Wishing things into being and writing lists is not enough. We actively have to be in touch with our goals and what we have to do to make them happen.

Mr Benjamin Franklin was right on the money when he said, “By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.” January is fast approaching and it will pass just as quick as it came if we don’t have clear goals and action steps in place.

I want to share 4 important tips that have been a tremendous help to me and will help you tackle 2019 with ease and confidence.

1. Focus on the long game

Short-term planning leads us to feeling like we are going in circles, aimlessly jumping from one project to the other, while long terms goals keep our faith alive. This is the faith necessary to keep us grounded when challenges come up. One of the great advantages of a long-term plan is that it helps in monitoring our progress and aligning our milestones with the bigger objective.

2. Write it down

It’s important to have a daily planner to write the specifics of your course of action. Scope out tasks periodically: quarterly, monthly, weekly and down to daily, this will help you stay on track at all times. You might not have the exact timelines and meetings set yet but it will be

5 Mzansi Influencers to Follow for Wearable Instagram Outfits

Follow these stylish Instagrammers and stay up to date with the latest trends.

Does she actually wear those outfits in ‘real’ life? That is a question I’m sure we’ve all asked at some point while scrolling down our Instagram feed.

Personally, there is no way I can be out at the mall or at my grandmother’s house wearing a brallete and a high-slit skirt so high up it would make Lil Kim cringe. So if you, like me, have a more laid back style, these Instagram accounts are a definite go-to for everyday style inspiration.
